2020 Parade

About the 2020 Christmas Parade

It is with great sadness that the Parade Committee has decided that this year’s 2020 Christmas Parade will not take place.

The Event was due to take place on the 12th  December and the theme was ‘Worldwide Fashion through the Ages’. We will carry the theme forward to next year’s event which we anticipate will be held on  Saturday 11th December 2021.

We will still hold the “Best Dressed Window” competition this year and windows will be judged week commencing 6th December. If you would like to find out more please do get in touch

Current Government restrictions and advice from the County Safety Advisory Group, make it difficult to hold events with over 30 people and it is hard to see this changing in time to hold the Parade. Apart from the socially distancing aspect, we have to consider the safety of the Marshalls and Buckingham Town Council staff without whom, the Parade could not happen.

Many schools, charities and individuals put a lot of effort into the preparation of costumes and floats, which is why the committee, in conjunction with Buckingham Town Council. have made an early decision to cancel this year’s Parade.

We hope that the savings made this year, will allow us to have a bigger event in 2021.

Get involved

We would love to hear from you if you would like to get involved. Perhaps you could offer help in some way?
Maybe you could help marshall on the day or might like to join our small committee. Please do get in touch

Thank you…

We would like to thank many people and companies for supporting our parade each year…and would also like to thank the people of Buckingham and surrounding areas for attending the parade and making it such a great and memorable day.
